Caleb is a trans man with no insurance, and no money to afford the treatments he so desperately wants. When someone hands him a card one night, promising to help him achieve his ideal body, it sounds too good to be true. And if it sounds too good to be true, it almost always is.

Inspired by You Weren’t Meant To Be Human by AJW, Worm Meat is about the lengths we will go for control. Over ourselves, and those around us.

It has themes of body horror, ranging from mild to extreme. Along with depictions of worms in places where worms should not be (mouths, ears, veins, organs, eyes, and more),  body swapping, eye horror, and multiple graphic mentions of vomit

You followed a strange man to a meeting with an even stranger woman and find yourself enthralled by her and the worms living under her skin.

This is a short, but very fun horror story with some gore, a lot of icky squirming scenes and a heavy focus on the feelings of (dis)comfort in ones own body. Focussing on the feelings of a watcher who finds themself unable to look away from what transpires, Caleb, the man, whose transformation does not achieve what he needs it too and the woman's own feelings on her life with the worms, this story portrays trans-formation horror incredibly well as well as how find the line between love and horror can be.

If you want a deeply immersive and visceral short story that examines bodily autonomy and what the perfect body really means for someone, then you should read this! Or if you like worms. Definitely read this if you like worms.
